Matt Kuchar Maintains Slim Advantage At Wyndham Championship.

In Greensboro, North Carolina, Matt Kuchar is hoping to salvage his season with a strong performance in the Wyndham Championship. Kuchar shot an impressive 6-under-par 64 in the second round to take the lead in a tournament that has been heavily affected by weather disruptions.

The tournament organizers have decided to cram in extra rounds on Sunday to complete the 72-hole competition. Kuchar will begin the final day with a one-stroke advantage at Sedgefield Country Club.

Kuchar, who hasn’t won a tournament in five years, needs a victory in the Wyndham Championship to have a chance at qualifying for the FedExCup playoffs. Since the introduction of the playoffs in 2007, Kuchar is the only golfer to have participated in every season.

Despite the pressure, Kuchar remains optimistic about his chances. “I think the expectations are high,” he said. “So I continue every week to expect to play good golf, and it’s not always gone that way, but nice to see things kind of rounding into form. Hope it’s not too late.”

Max Greyserman impressed with a phenomenal round of 60 and is tied for second place with Chad Ramey (64) and Cameron Young (62), all at 11-under par.

As the tournament extends into a long day on Sunday, other notable players like Beau Hossler, Billy Horschel, and Aaron Rai are also in contention at 10 under par.

The round was heavily disrupted by rain delays, but Greyserman managed to maintain his focus and score exceptionally well. Playing near his alma mater, Duke University, the 29-year-old is looking for his first PGA Tour victory in his 23rd attempt.

Meanwhile, Ramey, who had to play 22 holes on Saturday, is aiming to secure a spot in the top 70 for the FedExCup playoffs. He expressed his desire to have a strong week and sneak into the playoffs.

Defending champion Lucas Glover had a memorable moment during his round with a hole-in-one on the 189-yard 12th hole. However, he ultimately finished the round with a 71 and won’t make the cut this year. On the other hand, Tour rookie Joe Highsmith achieved his third hole-in-one of the season, becoming the first golfer to accomplish this feat in a PGA Tour season since at least 1983.

Taiwan’s C.T. Pan withdrew from the tournament during the second round.
