The Osun State Government has responded to the allegations made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state regarding a 1 billion donation made by Governor Ademola Adeleke to a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Lagos.
Denying the allegations in a statement issued on Saturday, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated that the claims made by the APC are baseless and simply a result of the party’s frustration over the outstanding performance of the Governor.
In order to clarify the situation, Adeleke’s spokesperson made it clear that neither the state government nor the Governor himself made the said donation, emphasizing that the funds did not come from the state treasury.

The Osun State APC and its members have clearly run out of ideas, resorting to spreading baseless lies and fake news about an event that was globally live-streamed and a donation that was personally made by Dr. Deji Adeleke, a billionaire philanthropist and the father of Governor Adeleke, himself a billionaire.
It is important to note that the philanthropist responsible for the donation has a history of generously contributing to various causes, including to the previous APC government.
In response to the APC’s actions, Rasheed urged the public to disregard their unfounded accusations, stating that they are simply a desperate attempt by the party to spread fake news due to their declining popularity in Osun State.
