Pdp Panel Receives Report On Former G5 Governors, Dubbed The Anti-Party Group

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is taking decisive action against the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and other former G-5 governors following allegations of anti-party activities and undermining the party’s directives.

The PDP National Disciplinary Committee, led by ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Tom Ikimi, is currently conducting a thorough investigation based on reports from the National Working Committee.

Wike, along with Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, are at the center of the controversy.

The G-5 members reportedly opposed the party’s directives and undermined its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the contentious 2023 elections.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, the PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, confirmed that Wike and the other former governors involved have been summoned to appear before the panel to address the allegations.

The PDP has formed two committees to probe the alleged involvement of members in anti-party activities and sabotage, with the aim of reconciling and enforcing discipline among the members.

Abdullahi emphasized that the probe of Wike and the other G-5 members will not cause division in the party but rather ensure discipline and prevent future instances of anti-party activities.
