Two senators who support Israel delivered speeches at the Republican Jewish Coalition Leadership Summit held at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas on September 5th. The event was dedicated to expressing admiration for Israel and its leader, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amidst the ongoing conflict with the Hamas terrorist group.
Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.) emphasized that this year’s election is distinct due to the alarming rise of anti-Semitism. He highlighted the importance of deciding whether our nation will tolerate such bigotry and whether we stand in solidarity with Israel or yield to terrorists.
Senator Scott further mentioned the distressing incidents where Jewish students faced attacks on American college campuses. He underscored the fact that supporters of Hamas openly burn the American flag and vandalize public property just steps away from the Capitol.
Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), an Iraq War veteran and member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, expressed the view that the United States should unequivocally support Israel in its battle against Hamas.
According to him, there is only one acceptable resolution in this war: the defeat and destruction of Hamas.
Senator Cotton also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party presidential nominee, for advocating more than $100 billion in sanctions relief for Iran, which is widely recognized as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.
This estimate includes roughly $80 billion in revenue generated through illicit oil sales since 2021, International Monetary Fund Special Drawing Rights that the Biden administration chose not to block, the release of electricity revenue previously held in escrow in Iraq, and other sources.
Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.) expressed concern over the limited resources available for the Democrats as they face challenges across various states. He stated that the Harris campaign redirected $25 million to down-ballot contests, including the Senate, due to the fierce competition.
One of the Senate hopefuls, candidate John Brown, shared his combat experience during a lunch panel at the Republican Jewish Coalition event. He recounted the injuries sustained when his Humvee struck a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, leaving him covered in diesel fuel and engulfed in flames.
Orna Neutra described the pain of being separated from her son for almost a year, stating that life as they knew it came to a halt on October 6th. She expressed the constant worry and reliance on their phones for any news about her son, Omer, and the other hostages.
Ronen Neutra commended both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, who was the Republican presidential nominee.
