Harris Campaign Website Introduces New Policy Platform Page.

Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has recently launched a new webpage providing detailed information about her policy stances on significant issues such as gun violence and illegal border crossings. This release comes ahead of a highly anticipated debate scheduled for September 10th, where Harris and former President Donald Trump will engage in a face-off for the first time.

One of the key proposals mentioned on the webpage is Harris’s plan to construct an additional 3 million affordable rental units and homes in order to alleviate the ongoing housing supply crisis. Additionally, she has pledged to ban new forms of price fixing by corporate landlords, aiming to create a fairer and more stable housing market.

Addressing the issue of gun control, the Democratic Party’s nominee has pledged to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. She also seeks to mandate universal background checks and support red flag laws, which would allow for the temporary seizure of firearms from individuals deemed to be a potential threat to public safety.

Regarding the broken immigration system, Harris intends to tackle this by reviving a previously unsuccessful bipartisan border security bill during her campaign. This bill, which was blocked by Senate Republicans for what they perceived as insufficient border protections, will be a focal point concerning her immigration policy.

The webpage also emphasizes Harris’s commitment to ensuring Israel’s ability to defend itself while simultaneously aiming to negotiate a ceasefire deal in Gaza. Additionally, it mentions her dedication to securing the release of hostages abducted by Hamas.

The webpage also sheds light on what the Harris campaign refers to as “Trump’s Project 2025 Agenda.” It cautions voters about the potential dangers that may arise if the Republican nominee were to be reelected.

Responding to this, the former president commented, “Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”

The statement provided on the webpage clarifies that “Project 2025” does not represent any specific candidate or campaign. Rather, it represents the collective views of more than 110 conservative groups. The statement further adds that the final decision on implementing the recommendations falls upon the president, whom they believe will be President Trump.

In recent years, the number of apprehended illegal immigrants has risen significantly under the current administration. During an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, the question arose as to why it had taken the president and vice president three and a half years to take action to address this issue. In response, Harris, who was appointed by Biden to address the root causes of migration, claimed that her efforts played a role in reducing the number of border crossings. While expressing her support for the previously mentioned bipartisan border bill, she attributed its failure to Trump’s actions during his presidency.
