President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, expressed optimism that Nigeria will overcome its current challenges and emerge victorious. Speaking at an inter-denominational church service in Abuja to mark Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, Akpabio encouraged citizens to remain patient and hopeful, as he believes that the brightest days of Nigeria are yet to come.
Akpabio also applauded President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to the Nigerian project, considering it as an inspiration for the nation. He dismissed claims of the South-east being marginalized under the current administration and stated that Nigeria will thrive under Tinubu’s leadership.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, urged former President Olusegun Obasanjo to continue supporting national unity, territorial integrity, and democracy. Akume also called for Obasanjo’s support of the current government and expressed confidence that Nigeria will become the most prosperous nation in Africa under Tinubu’s administration.
Meanwhile, Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, encouraged Nigerians to stay optimistic despite the economic challenges facing the country. Speaking at an interdenominational church service in Asaba, Oborevwori urged citizens to persevere, stating that tough times are temporary and that Nigeria will soon enter a new phase of prosperity, peace, unity, and progress.
During the church service, Akpabio praised the indomitable spirit of Nigerians and their ability to overcome adversity throughout history. He commended Tinubu’s leadership qualities and his dedication to Nigeria’s advancement, describing it as inspirational. Akpabio highlighted the progress made by the 10th National Assembly through pro-development laws that aimed to bring hope and growth to the nation.
Akpabio assured the congregation that Nigeria’s journey toward becoming a prosperous nation has only just begun and urged everyone to remain patient, hold on to hope, and believe in the inevitable change. He expressed confidence that together, Nigeria will build a nation that future generations will be proud of.
Akume thanked Obasanjo for his support and requested his continuous advocacy for unity, territorial integrity, and democracy. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing relief to the citizens, including loans for university students and initiatives to reduce dependence on petro vehicles.
Despite the challenges, Akume expressed his belief in Tinubu’s leadership and envisioned Nigeria becoming the most blessed, successful, and prosperous nation in Africa under his administration. The SGF also acknowledged the efforts of the armed forces, police, and para-military organizations in maintaining security and eliminating banditry in the North-west.
Governor Oborevwori’s message to Nigerians was to remain hopeful and resilient amidst the current economic hardships. He assured everyone that tough times have an expiration date and called for creativity, determination, and patience in overcoming the challenges. Oborevwori emphasized the importance of prayers, positive confessions about the country, and unity among citizens in fostering peace, development, and unity.
