The Federal Government is intensifying its efforts to provide Nigerians with affordable and sustainable energy options. This is part of a wider initiative aimed at addressing economic challenges and improving the lives of the general population.
A meeting was recently held in Abuja, convened by the Minister of Finance and Coordinator Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss strategies for accelerating the Presidential CNG Initiative (Pi-CNG) and ensuring that Nigerians have access to affordable and sustainable energy solutions.
During the meeting, Edun emphasized the importance of effective planning and coordination in implementing the Pi-CNG. He also highlighted the need to mitigate the economic impact of recent policy changes and underscored the significance of strategic approaches.
Key stakeholders, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Mrs Lydia Shehu Jafiya, the CEO of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Dr Armstrong Ume Takang, and representatives from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) were present at the meeting.
This high-level meeting marks an essential step towards mitigating the economic impact of recent policy changes and paving the way for a brighter energy future in Nigeria. It is a significant milestone in achieving the goals of the Presidential CNG Initiative.
