During the Republican National Convention, several speakers have portrayed the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump as nothing short of miraculous, drawing on religious symbolism to underscore his survival. One of the most poignant moments came from Reverend Lorenzo Sewell on Thursday, who recounted how his congregation had fervently prayed for Trump in the month leading up to the attack. The gunfire, which occurred during Trump’s rally on July 13, narrowly missed the former president’s head, grazing his ear.Reflecting on the incident, Sewell remarked, “When we prayed for President Trump, little did we know that 30 days later there would be a miracle by mere millimeters. If President Trump had shifted even a fraction, he might not have been here today to share his vision for restoring America’s prosperity.”He added, “The undeniable hand of God is at work in this man’s life.”
