Fishermen Assist After Whale Leaps Onto Boat, Capsizing It And Throwing Occupants Into The Sea.

Two men were spotted floating next to their capsized boat with smiles on their faces.

On July 23, the Yager brothers were fishing for Atlantic menhaden, commonly known as pogies, in Portsmouth Harbor, New Hampshire. Little did they know that they were about to witness something extraordinary. A whale appeared in close proximity to their boat, breaching the surface of the water with tremendous force.

“We’ve never seen one that close to shore before, so we were pretty amazed!,” Wyatt Yager told the local news station.

The brothers, being in the same fishing area, had a front-row seat to the shocking collision between the whale and another boat. They couldn’t believe their eyes as they witnessed the powerful crash. The impact was so strong that it caused the boat to tip over and throw both men overboard, leaving them stranded in the water.

Capturing the incident on video, the Yager brothers saw the whale emerge from the water and come crashing down on the helpless boat. The vessel was completely capsized, the epitome of chaos. Wyatt later described the moment, “It was absolute chaos when it first happened. My brother and I looked at each other, thinking, ‘Did this really just happen?'”

Without hesitation, the Yager brothers immediately raced towards the distressed men, who were struggling in the water, and managed to rescue them aboard their own boat. At that critical moment, the thought of the whale potentially breaching again didn’t even cross Wyatt’s mind.

“It didn’t even cross my mind. Looking back at the video, it’s pretty scary. I’m surprised I didn’t think of that, but in the moment, all we could think of was to help these guys. We didn’t think much beyond that,” Wyatt confessed.

Other fishermen who were nearby also rushed in to lend a hand.

Wyatt later expressed his surprise at seeing the two men still smiling and seemingly unscathed despite being tossed into the sea like rag dolls, abruptly ending their boating trip.

The Yager brothers speculated that the breaching whale was also after the same fish they were targeting.

Despite the dramatic incident, Wyatt reassured that neither he nor his brother would let it deter them from their love of fishing. Colin had even planned to set sail the very next day, with Wyatt following suit the following day.
