Abe Hamadeh Emerges As The Victorious Candidate In The Gop Primary, Defeating Blake Masters In Arizona.

The battle between two prominent Arizona Republicans has finally concluded, with Abe Hamadeh emerging as the victor in the primary for the GOP-friendly Eighth District. The polls in Arizona closed on July 30 at 7 p.m. local time, but the outcome of the race was not officially confirmed by The Associated Press until July 31 at 5:27 p.m.

Abe Hamadeh had received public endorsements from former President Donald Trump, who also showed support for Blake Masters in a Truth Social post on July 27. In the 2022 elections, both candidates aligned themselves as pro-Trump Republicans and ran together with another well-known Arizonan, Kari Lake.

Unfortunately, neither Hamadeh nor Masters were able to secure victory in the 2022 race, which saw several Republican casualties amidst predictions of a Red Wave cycle that failed to materialize. While Masters quickly conceded to Sen. Mark Kelly (R-Ariz.), Hamadeh and his supporters challenged a narrow loss to Attorney General Kris Mayes through the court system.

This time around, the Eighth District seat, currently occupied by Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.), was fiercely contested by the two Republican hopefuls, as well as other influential Arizona politicians. Ben Toma, the Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives, was another GOP contender in the race and managed to secure 21.2 percent of the vote with 86 percent of the ballots counted.

Trent Franks, a former representative of the district in the House, also participated in the Republican race, alongside Arizona State Sen. Anthony Kern and Patrick James Briody. At the point when 86 percent of the votes were counted, Franks had garnered 16.5 percent, Kern had 4.7 percent, and Briody had 2.3 percent of the vote.

During a rally for Kari Lake in Goodyear, Arizona, on July 27, Bill Brettner expressed his disagreement with the messaging conveyed in an interview with The Epoch Times. After the race, Blake Masters stated, “For me, now, it’s back to business, and I will do everything possible to aid in the return of Donald J. Trump to the White House.”
