More than 500 young Nigerians have been empowered with crucial entrepreneurial skills through the PowerUp Entrepreneurship Program 4.0, a significant initiative by Access Corporation in collaboration with the NerdzFactory Foundation. The program, which took place from July 29 to August 10, 2024, aimed to bridge the gap between business ideas and successful ventures by equipping participants with the knowledge and tools necessary for sustainable business growth.

The PowerUp Entrepreneurship Program 4.0 utilized a multifaceted approach to entrepreneurship training, incorporating various components such as the PowerUp Webinar, PowerUp BootCamp, and PowerUp Demo-Day. These elements were carefully structured to develop participants’ business acumen and provide practical insights into key entrepreneurial aspects.

Participants received comprehensive education on critical business skills, including mastering Digital Marketing and Financial Management, crafting compelling pitch decks, and effective pitching strategies. The program also covered important topics such as business planning, fundraising, and branding, ensuring a holistic understanding of what it takes to succeed in the entrepreneurial world.

One of the highlights of the program was a free workshop titled “Turn Your Passion into Profit: Mastering Mini Importation.” Led by Oladeji Esho, the workshop offered valuable guidance on leveraging mini importation as a profitable business venture, inspiring attendees to explore this avenue of entrepreneurship.

The PowerUp Entrepreneurship Program 4.0 adopted a hybrid training model, combining physical and virtual sessions to accommodate a wide range of participants. This inclusive approach allowed young graduates, final-year students, unemployed youth, NYSC Corps members, and aspiring entrepreneurs from various backgrounds to benefit from the program. The participant base also included girls aged 18-35 and existing entrepreneurs seeking to expand their knowledge.

Ade Olowojoba, Director at NerdzFactory Foundation, emphasized the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among Nigeria’s youth, stating, “As our economic landscape continues to evolve, empowering young people with the skills and knowledge to navigate these changes is essential.”

The PowerUp Program serves as a dynamic platform that enables aspiring entrepreneurs to discover and seize business opportunities, equipping them with the necessary tools to thrive and succeed in their ventures. The program promised numerous benefits, including increased youth involvement in entrepreneurship, improved access to finance, and enhanced business skills.

By promoting collaboration and networking, the PowerUp Entrepreneurship Program 4.0 aimed to generate job opportunities and contribute to economic growth. Ultimately, it sought to shape the entrepreneurial landscape in Nigeria by nurturing a new generation of innovators and business leaders.
