Ajaero: Pdp Warns Tinubu And Apc Of Escalating Political Tensions.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned the Federal Government against throwing the country into crisis with the arrest of the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero. Ajaero was apprehended at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday while en route to London.

PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, expressed the need for the government to exercise caution during a press conference on Monday. He condemned the government’s inclination to arrest and label people as terrorists or sponsors of protests.

Ologunagba reiterated that those responsible for the protests are driven by hunger and urged the President, Bola Tinubu, to address the welfare concerns of the nation to prevent further unrest.

The PDP spokesperson emphasized that the primary purpose of government is to ensure the welfare and security of the people. However, he criticized the current administration for its failure to deliver on these responsibilities.

Highlighting the contradictory spending patterns of the government, Ologunagba pointed out the immense expenditure on non-essential items, such as a $150 million plane and the renovation of the Vice President’s house using N21 billion, while the minimum wage remains unrealistically low.

Ologunagba stressed that Nigerians do not wish for the President’s failure, but they cannot stay silent when his decisions bring them pain and suffering. He also accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of importing thugs from Imo State to serve as electoral officers in the upcoming Edo governorship election.

He warned the APC and its candidate that the people of Edo State are aware of their plans and will resist any undemocratic actions. According to Ologunagba, there are limits to what people can tolerate in the face of aggression, and the APC should be ready to face the consequences if they persist with their nefarious acts.

In conclusion, the PDP called on Tinubu to exhibit leadership qualities and put an end to the wastefulness associated with his government. They asserted that the people of Edo State have had enough and will employ every legitimate means to defend themselves and ensure a fair and democratic electoral process.
