The President-General of International Market Amalgamated, Ojo-Alaba, Lagos, Chief Camillus Amajuoyi, has expressed his condolences to the immediate family of the late President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. He described Chief Iwuanyanwu’s passing as a significant loss to the Igbo people and Nigeria as a whole.
In a statement released in Lagos, Chief Amajuoyi also extended his sympathies to the entire Igbo nation. He highlighted the profound impact that Chief Iwuanyanwu had on the Igbo community through his unwavering commitment to unity and the well-being of the people.
“It is with deep shock and sorrow that I received the news of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s passing. His departure has created a void that cannot be filled. This loss has greatly affected the Igbo people and the entire nation of Nigeria,” Chief Amajuoyi said.
The late Chief Iwuanyanwu was a remarkable leader who made significant contributions to his community. His demise is an immense shock and an irreparable loss, not just to his immediate family and the Igbo people, but to Nigeria as a whole. He was a peacemaker, a boundary-less philanthropist, a unifier, and a visionary leader,” he added.
During his tenure as the President-General of Ohanaeze, Chief Iwuanyanwu tirelessly worked towards the unity of the Igbo people. He championed the principles of love, peace, reconciliation, and unity among the Igbo community and Nigerians at large. His advocacy for equal treatment and recognition of the Igbo race within the Nigerian project was resolute,” Chief Amajuoyi emphasized.
Chief Amajuoyi further highlighted Chief Iwuanyanwu’s dedication to the Igbo cause and his availability to mediate on behalf of Igbo businessmen whenever their businesses faced threats due to unfair government policies or ethnic profiling.
“Chief Iwuanyanwu was a paternal figure to us, the traders of International Market Amalgamated Ojo-Alaba. We will always remember his intervention during the demolition of parts of our market. He was an advocate for peace and his commitment to nation-building will never be forgotten,” Chief Amajuoyi shared.
