Ademola Lookman, The Talented English Footballer, Finds Himself Caught In A Difficult Decision Between Two Football Powerhouses In England And The Glamour Of Paris Saint-Germain.

A bidding war has erupted for Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman, who was initially expected to join Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1. Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool have now entered the race to secure the signature of the talented forward, leaving Lookman in a dilemma regarding his future destination.

According to renowned transfer expert Nicolo Schira, Lookman has already agreed to personal terms, including salary and contract duration, with PSG. The 26-year-old Nigerian international was reported to have accepted a five-year contract worth five million Euros per season, which is almost triple his current earnings at Atalanta.

Having scored 32 goals and provided 18 assists in 79 competitive games for Atalanta, Lookman has become a fan favorite at the Serie A club. He made a name for himself with his exceptional performance in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen last season, where he scored a memorable hat-trick to secure a 3-0 victory for Atalanta.

However, negotiations between clubs are proving to be challenging as Atalanta is keen on retaining the promising Nigerian player. Lookman is now embroiled in a dispute with Atalanta after withdrawing himself from their opening Serie A match against Lecce, expressing his desire to pursue a transfer.

Atalanta coach Gian Piero admitted that the player’s decision to leave caught them off guard. The club’s Sports Director, Luca Parcassi, stated that Lookman has been misguided and emphasized that any transfer would be decided by the club, with Atalanta’s best interests taking precedence.

Parcassi assured that Atalanta’s intention, shared by the coach, club, and owners, was to retain their key players instead of allowing them to leave. He mentioned that players often receive poor advice, and the transfer window extending beyond the start of the season makes the situation even more uncertain.

Lookman, who joined Atalanta in August 2022, has a contract until June 2026 with an option for an additional year. His current market value is estimated at 40 million Euros.

In a surprising turn of events, Arsenal is now ready to snatch Lookman from PSG’s grasp by offering a lucrative 42.5 million swap deal. The Gunners were captivated by Lookman’s brilliant performance in the Europa League final, where he single-handedly defeated German champions Bayer Leverkusen with a stunning hat-trick. Reports suggest that Arsenal is willing to offer 50 million Euros, potentially including defender Jakub Kiwior as part of the deal. Alternatively, Lookman could join Arsenal on loan with an option to buy.

Lookman’s absence from Atalanta’s training sessions further fueled speculation about his future. Liverpool has also shown interest in the Nigerian forward, and Atalanta is believed to be seeking a transfer fee of 65-70 million Euros for Lookman.

Meanwhile, former Italian striker Michele Padovano expressed his disappointment in Lookman’s handling of PSG’s interest, considering it as disrespectful towards Atalanta. Lookman and his teammate Koopmeiners requested to be excluded from Atalanta’s matches until their transfer situation is resolved. Padovano publicly criticized Lookman on Instagram, reminding him that Atalanta had provided him with the opportunity to become an important player.

Paris Saint-Germain has offered Lookman a significant increase in salary, with Le Parisien proposing a raise from 1.8 million to 4.5 million Euros per year.
