Coach Pete Carroll Will Be Returning To Usc As A Teacher.

Former University of Southern California and Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll is returning to Los Angeles, but not for coaching reasons. In an interview with Sports Radio 93.3 KJR-FM, Carroll revealed that he will be teaching a class at USC, where he previously coached the football team from 2001 to 2009 before transitioning to Seattle. The class is scheduled for the spring semester, although Carroll did not provide further details.

When asked about his desire to coach again, Carroll expressed that he still has the capability and physical fitness for coaching, but he emphasized that he is content with his current off-field life. He mentioned having other exciting endeavors and not actively waiting for coaching opportunities.

During his tenure with the Seahawks from 2010 to 2023, Carroll led the team for 14 seasons, including a Super Bowl championship in 2013. The Seahawks achieved significant success under his guidance, making the playoffs 10 times with a record of 137-89-1.

Since leaving his position with the Seahawks in January, Carroll has had minimal contact with the new coaching staff, led by Coach Mike Macdonald. He mentioned briefly encountering Macdonald in a parking lot, but otherwise has not been involved with the team. Carroll expressed the belief that letting the new staff take charge is the right decision.

Carroll’s coaching career includes remarkable achievements, as he won national championships with the University of Southern California in 2003 and 2004. He is one of only three coaches to have both a Super Bowl and a college national championship to his name.
