Dambe Warriors League (DWL), the leading sports brand dedicated to promoting Nigeria’s ancient martial art of Dambe, is delighted to announce that SuperFight 03 will take place at the Velodrome in Abuja on September 15. This announcement follows a formal endorsement by the Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture and Creative Economy, as well as the Federal Ministry of Tourism, marking a significant milestone for the company.
Anthony Okeleke, co-founder of Dambe Warriors, expressed his excitement saying: “Abuja has always been an excellent host city for Dambe. The Velodrome is an exceptional venue that will capably accommodate SuperFight 03. We anticipate a sold-out crowd of approximately 10,000 spectators and are confident that the event will not only entertain but also educate millions about this important Nigerian cultural tradition.”
SuperFight 03 will feature nine thrilling Dambe bouts, including three championship fights and six promotional fights.
In the Lightweight championship, Season 02 champion Yar Mage will face off against rookie Nassarawa. Both warriors impressed during the regular season, with MAGE finishing with a 4-1 record and Nassarawa closely behind with a 3-2 record.
The Middleweight championship will witness the formidable Shaaban going head-to-head with newcomer Dogon Messi. This matchup showcases two of the greatest athletes in Dambe today and is sure to captivate the thousands of onlookers present at the event and the hundreds of thousands watching from home. With both warriors finishing Season 03 with a record of 4-1, this promises to be an evenly-matched showdown.
Among the Heavyweight contenders, viral sensation Ali Kanin Bello (AKB) will fight the number one-ranked Yansanda for the title. Despite Yansanda having a better record during the season, AKB enters the fight as the heavy favorite, having amassed millions of views on social media, showcasing his formidable physique and punishing persona.
