This year’s game easily surpassed the previous record set in 2003, which had 1.44 million viewers. At its peak, the game attracted over 4 million viewers, indicating the immense popularity of the event.
With an audience of 3.44 million, this All-Star Game now stands as the third most-viewed WNBA event ever. It is also the highest-rated game since the league’s inception in 1997, surpassing the viewership of the first two nationally televised games.
Last year’s All-Star Game, also aired in prime time, recorded a viewership of 850,000.
Remarkably, this season, 17 WNBA games have garnered over 1 million viewers, showcasing the growing fan base of the league. Rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has appeared in 15 of these highly-watched games, solidifying her star power.
