The #EndBadGovernance protest in Osun State has been temporarily suspended by the organizers following the completion of the sixth-day protest.
The protesters, known as the Coalition of Concerned Nigerian Citizens, initially gathered at the popular Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo and marched to the Government Secretariat in Abere.
According to New Telegraph, on Tuesday, the protesters presented their demands to Governor Ademola Adeleke through his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, and the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye.
A statement from the group’s coordinator, Ajala Adetunji, explained that the decision to temporarily suspend the protest was made after assessing the security situation and considering the ongoing Osun Osogbo festival in the state capital.
Since the start of this peaceful protest, our demands have been clear, urging our leaders to take immediate action in addressing the critical issues affecting the citizens of our beloved state and country.
