The African Knockout Championship (AKO) is set to bring excitement to Nigeria’s capital once again with its second event in Abuja. On August 31, the ThisDay Dome will become the venue for AKO5, featuring thrilling action in multiple divisions including featherweight, middleweight, lightweight, and women’s bantamweight as the AKO Championship playoffs draw near.
Headlining the event is a highly anticipated showdown between Abuja’s own Segun Ogunnoiki from Nigeria and Ivory Coast’s star, Yao Marcel, as they compete for a coveted spot in the championship playoffs.
Among the electrifying matchups, fans will witness Jackiel Anyana, also known as “The Smiling Assassin,” facing off against Kudzete Fred in the featherweight division. In a fierce lightweight battle, Cornel Thompson will go up against Uganda’s James Opio, and Kenya’s Andere Victor will face Morocco’s Faout Youseff. Other exciting matchups include Daniel Iwuoha versus Abdoul Razac Sankara, Yahaya Yahuza Mohammed against Emmanuel Christian in the middleweight division, and Xavier Adams Boa battling Dennis Johnson.
