In A Bid To Ensure The Safety And Security Of Travellers, Senator Tinubu Has Urged Agencies To Collaborate With States To Address Accidents.

President Bola Tinubu has instructed relevant federal agencies in transportation and road infrastructure to intensify their efforts and collaborate with state governments in order to enhance the safety and security of both travelers and residents.

This decision was prompted by a recent tragic incident in Niger State, where a tanker explosion resulted in the loss of lives of 48 individuals and livestock.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed his deepest condolences to the government and people of Niger State regarding the petrol tanker explosion that occurred on Sunday along the Bida-Agaie-Lapai road.

According to reports from the Niger Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), numerous individuals sustained injuries in the accident, which involved a truck carrying cattle and passengers.

President Tinubu expressed his sympathy for the families of those who lost their lives or were injured in the incident. He also conveyed his condolences to the owners of the shops that were affected by this tragic event. He offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured victims.

The President applauded the prompt response of the federal and state emergency agencies to the incident. He also commended the kind-hearted Nigerians who rushed to the scene to assist the victims.

President Tinubu pledged continued support for ongoing relief efforts aimed at providing assistance to those affected by this unfortunate incident.
