Seun Awobajo Assumes The Prestigious Title Of Akeweje 1 In Bariga, Lagos, Embracing Culture, Creativity, And Celebration.

The 1st Akwj of Bariga Kingdom was recently inducted, as Seun Awobajo, a renowned thespian, children’s theatre expert, and Founder/Creative Director of the Footprints of David Arts Foundation, received the prestigious honor. The induction ceremony took place at the Baale of Bariga Palace, Igi Olugbin Street, Bariga, and was attended by numerous dignitaries. The event featured a captivating drums ensemble led by Quadri Adekunle, Mosaku Damilare, Peter Abayomi, and Elijah, captivating the entire community with their thrilling and inspiring performances.

In an interview with Saturday Telegraph, the Baale of Bariga, High Chief Hassan Agiri, commended Awobajo for his dedication to community development through the Footprints of David Arts Foundation and various children theatre projects. The Baale highlighted the numerous contributions of Awobajo to the Bariga community, stating that it would take an entire day to enumerate or list them all.

According to the Baale, Awobajo is a gentleman known for his respectfulness and his modern approach to educating the youth about Nigerian culture, particularly in Lagos State and Yoruba land. These qualities led to the decision to honor him as the 1st Akwj of Bariga Kingdom.
