LG Electronics has launched its latest range of energy-efficient home appliances, aimed at reducing power consumption and addressing Africa’s unique energy challenges.
Aligned with the global sustainability movement, LG’s new appliances boast industry-leading energy efficiency, in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 goal of transitioning to a green economy.
Oktae Kim, Product Director of the Home Appliance Division at LG Electronics Nigeria, expressed LG’s commitment to developing eco-friendly solutions, reducing carbon footprint, and promoting sustainable living in Africa as a responsible global citizen.
Kim further added that LG will leverage their advanced core technologies, including inverter and component solutions, to deliver an expanded range of appliances with industry-leading energy efficiency.
LG’s latest washing machine and dryer have set new standards for energy efficiency. The washing machine incorporates a unique drum motion that achieves clean laundry while minimizing energy consumption through its Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD) motor. This new motor adjusts its RPM in real-time, resulting in the appliance’s impressive A-55 percent energy rating, while also preventing laundry tangling or twisting. The washing machine is equipped with a Microplastic Care cycle to reduce shedding of microplastics from laundry, as well as an ezDispense feature that automatically dispenses the right amount of detergent for each load.
The new dryer, on the other hand, has an A+++-26 percent energy rating, using LG’s AI-driven innovations. The dryer’s AI Dry feature provides accurate moisture detection and optimal drying for different materials and laundry items. The washing machine also offers an AI-driven feature, with AI Wash and AI DD motor, enhancing fabric-sensing capabilities and overall performance. It can automatically adjust cycle and temperature options based on usage patterns, and the control panel displays cycles based on usage frequency for a more convenient user experience.
LG’s new bottom-freezer refrigerator not only offers the lowest energy consumption among refrigerators on the market but also brings a stylish touch to the kitchen with its premium flat door design. With an A-25 percent energy rating, this refrigerator operates quietly at only 29dB.
In addition, LG introduces its new 60-centimeter (24-inch) built-in InstaView oven with A++ energy efficiency. This oven incorporates cutting-edge features and AI technologies to enhance the culinary experience. The oven includes 80 Auto Cook modes and features Gourmet AI, which identifies the dish being cooked through its built-in camera and automatically selects the appropriate cooking mode from a database of 30 recipes.
LG’s InstaView technology makes life easier in the kitchen by allowing users to check on their meals’ progress without opening the oven door, preserving the temperature inside and preventing energy waste.
The new LG QuadWash dishwasher incorporates the company’s power-saving Inverter Direct Drive Motor, achieving an energy efficiency rating of A-20 percent.
