The Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI) is preparing to address the business challenges in Africa and unveil opportunities at its annual event on September 25-26 in New York, United States of America.
This year’s forum, titled “Unstoppable Africa: The Solution for a Global Future,” aims to bring together influential leaders from the public and private sectors to promote Africa’s role in shaping global business solutions.
The 2024 GABI event will not only showcase Africa’s economic resilience and vast potential but will also provide a platform for presenting innovative and practical solutions to urgent global challenges.
During a virtual press conference, Sanda Ojiambo, Assistant Secretary-General and CEO of the UN Global Compact, which organizes GABI, announced this year’s forum and its lineup of speakers. Ojiambo emphasized Africa’s promising market valued at over $3 trillion and its projected GDP growth rate of 3.8% in 2024 and 4.2% in 2025.
In response to questions, Ojiambo stated, “GABI was established based on a powerful realization. The world has been doing business in Africa, but not always with Africa. We aim to rebalance that equation. GABI is not just another forum; we are a solution-oriented platform dedicated to shaping Africa’s business future.”
