Erica Ash, a talented actress and comedian widely recognized for her roles in the Starz television series “Survivors Remorse” and the sketch comedy show “Mad TV,” tragically passed away on Sunday at the age of 46.
In a heartfelt statement, Diann Ash, Erica’s mother, announced the devastating news: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she peacefully transitioned, surrounded by her loved ones.”
Erica Ash was an extraordinary woman and a gifted entertainer who left an indelible mark on countless lives with her razor-sharp wit, infectious humor, and unwavering passion for life. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts.
Following her breakthrough role in the 2001 comedy-drama “All About Our House,” Ms. Ash joined the cast of “Mad TV” for its final season from 2008 to 2009.
In 2013, the talented actress appeared in the star-studded comedy horror film “Scary Movie V,” sharing the screen with renowned actors such as Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Terry Crews, Ashley Tisdale, and Sarah Hyland.
That same year marked another significant milestone in Erica’s career as she secured a recurring role on “The Real Husbands of Hollywood,” a parody reality show on BET, co-created by the brilliant comedian Kevin Hart. Later on, she captivated audiences in “Survivors Remorse,” a critically acclaimed series executive-produced by professional basketball player LeBron James, and BET’s legal drama series “In Contempt.”
Renowned comedian and television host Loni Love also paid a heartfelt tribute to Ms. Ash, expressing her sadness for the loss of her dear friend.
The network issued a statement extending their deepest condolences and love to Erica’s parents, siblings, friends, and family. “Fly high, Queen,” the statement read.
In honor of Erica Ash’s memory, her mother kindly requested that donations be made to a breast cancer organization, such as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
