Bobrisky Has Been Released After Spending Six Months In Jail, As Shown In A Video.

Nigerians have taken to social media to react as controversial Nigerian transgender, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released after spending six months in prison.

Bobrisky, also referred to as the “Mummy of Lagos,” was sentenced to a six-month jail term in April 2024 by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos for abusing Naira notes. The judge, who did not give the option of a fine, stated that the sentence was intended to serve as a deterrent to others.

Originally scheduled for release on July 29, 2024, Bobrisky’s release date was reportedly extended to Monday, August 5th due to a supposed miscalculation.

Since his release, social media platforms have been buzzing with anticipation for Bobrisky’s return and the content he will share.

In his first video after leaving prison, Bobrisky appears well-groomed, maintaining his signature sense of style and posing confidently, showing no visible signs of having spent six months behind bars.

His appearance, seemingly unchanged and even having gained weight, has caused speculations on social media regarding whether he was actually imprisoned or placed under house arrest with a restriction on social media usage.

Bobrisky’s release has generated mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some expressing support for him and others criticizing his controversial lifestyle.
