Renowned Nollywood actor, Williams Uchemba, has addressed the issue of women demanding things from men that they cannot afford. Taking to his Facebook page on Thursday, the actor pointed out that many women are still single due to their entitlement mentality.
In his advice to women, Uchemba proposed that instead of making direct requests, women should appeal to men. He emphasized that there is a need for women to refrain from asking for things that are beyond their financial means, even if they work for ten years.
Uchemba stated, “Ladies listen, there is a law that says anything you cannot afford, do not request it in a restaurant. There is a mentality that is creeping in most women in this generation and this is the reason why you say there is no husband. I don’t think you have any business requesting things that you can never afford in your wildest dreams from a man.”
According to the actor, this entitlement mentality has become pervasive among women, leading them to make unreasonable demands. He cautioned women to understand that a man who genuinely likes them will naturally support them financially. Uchemba further emphasized that character, rather than material possessions, is what truly matters in a relationship.
He also highlighted the importance of appealing to one’s partner rather than making demands. Uchemba explained, “There is a difference between appealing and requesting. When a wife wants to ask for something, she does not request it, she appeals to the husband. There is nothing wrong in appealing, but those women who think it is their right have a problem.”
Uchemba concluded by advising women to prioritize their character over fleeting material possessions, as those things do not determine a woman’s worth or ability to attract and maintain a fulfilling relationship.
