MAN CHARGED TO COURT FOR THREAT TO LIFE OF US PRESIDENT, JOE BIDEN

President Biden gives a campaign speech on the eve of Jan. 6 attack of the Capitol at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pa., on Friday, January 5, 2024.

The Justice Department announced charges on Wednesday against a Florida man, Jason Patrick Alday, 39, for allegedly threatening to kill President Joe Biden, shortly before an unrelated assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

The FBI reported that there is currently no known motive for the shooting targeting Trump last Saturday and found no evidence suggesting the shooter had accomplices.

Investigators revealed that Alday first threatened Biden while checking into a mental health facility, stating he would “slit” the president’s throat. In early July, Secret Service agents interviewed Alday at his home regarding these threats, which he denied. However, shortly thereafter, he posted on X (formerly Twitter), “I’ll kill Joe Biden today!!”

Further investigation of Alday’s social media activity uncovered additional threats, including one that questioned whether he should “finish [Biden] off,” citing concerns over the president’s declining health. Alday also made racist threats against the Secret Service agent who interviewed him, using anti-Black slurs.

Alday faces three charges, including making threats against the President of the United States. He appeared in court on Wednesday and has been ordered detained pending trial.
