Actress Jessica Rey, best known for her role as Alyssa the White Power Ranger, has ventured into entrepreneurship with her self-designed swimwear line. Rey Swimwear offers flattering, feminine, and functional one-piece swimsuits for women who prefer not to wear bikinis. Rey’s inspiration came from her own struggle to find a one-piece swimsuit that made her feel good, leading her to design her own. Her goal is to provide women with options to feel beautiful and confident in their own skin.
Rey’s journey into entrepreneurship is rooted in her personal exploration of modesty. Initially, she disliked the concept but later came to understand modesty as a means of upholding the God-given dignity within ourselves. Rey noticed a change in how she was treated when wearing revealing clothing, which further motivated her to embrace modesty and design swimwear that caters to women seeking a similar experience.
In addition to her swimwear line, Rey has co-authored a coffee table book called “Decent Exposure” and launched a clothing line called Estella. Balancing her businesses, Rey also finds time to attend Power Ranger conventions and homeschool her three children, aged 10, 11, and 13.

American Essence had the opportunity to speak with Jessica Rey about her daily routines, what inspires her, and how she incorporates education into her family’s life.
Maintaining Wellness
Rey starts her day with a wellness routine. She bounces on a trampoline to get her lymphatic system going and wake herself up. Additionally, she follows a natural program to improve her vision. While bouncing, she alternates between focusing on something far away and something up close. Afterward, she drinks homemade kefir and answers emails while walking on her under-desk treadmill.
To stay motivated throughout the day, Rey keeps a written checklist of her health and wellness tasks. Checking off items on the list gives her a sense of accomplishment and propels her forward.
Inspiration and Role Models
Rey draws inspiration from her late mother, who continues to influence her life. Despite initial concerns, her mother became proud of her decision to temporarily pause her MBA studies and take on the role of a Power Ranger. Meeting young fans, especially through the Make a Wish Foundation, has also provided Rey with inspiration and a greater appreciation for her impact.
One particular encounter with a young boy named Joseph touched Rey deeply. Joseph, battling leukemia, visited the Power Ranger set through the foundation. Rey spent the entire day with him, forming a bond with both Joseph and his parents. Promising to visit them after the show wrapped up, Rey made good on her word and flew to New York City to spend time with Joseph. Their friendship continues to this day.
Families and Educational Adventures
Rey believes in incorporating education into her family’s travels. Through their adventures, her children learn various skills and cultural experiences. For example, in Umbria, Italy, they participate in cooking classes, horseback riding lessons, and leatherwork workshops. They even attend insect museum visits and receive Italian language lessons, making education hands-on and exciting.
