The African Airline Association (AFRAA) and EgyptAir Training Academy have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework of collaboration between the two entities. This partnership aims to achieve common objectives in providing training to aviation professionals across the African continent. The MoU was formally signed during the Egypt International Air Show held at El Alamein in Egypt.
The Secretary-General of AFRAA, Mr. Abderahmane Berth, and the President of EgyptAir Training Academy, Capt. Waleed Soliman, were the signatories of the MoU. This collaboration will greatly support the development of a sustainable and safe air transport system in Africa, making a significant contribution to the economic growth and integration of the continent.
Mr. Abderahmane Berth, AFRAA Secretary General, emphasized the significance of developing aviation professionals within Africa and bridging training gaps both within the continent and beyond. He expressed his optimism that the partnership with EgyptAir Training Academy, along with other airline aviation training centers, will help overcome challenges in training future aviation professionals.
AFRAA appreciates the cooperation with EgyptAir in synchronizing training activities and exchanging programs to achieve shared objectives, consequently enhancing the effectiveness of the Association in meeting the training needs of the African aviation sector, Mr. Berth further added.
Under the framework of the MoU, AFRAA and EgyptAir Training Academy will collaborate on the development of training programs and providing training to flight personnel, cabin crew, aircraft technicians, flight dispatchers, ground handling, and commercial staff. This collaboration will also cater to various training needs of African airlines. As the need arises, AFRAA and EgyptAir will establish taskforces and working groups, comprising experts from both organizations, to address common interests and implement new cooperative training projects.
The signing ceremony of this MoU marks a significant step towards strengthening the aviation sector in Africa by focusing on the professional training and development of individuals working within the industry. It is expected that this collaboration will contribute to the overall growth and advancement of the aviation sector in the African continent.
