The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development in Jigawa state, Hon Ahmed Garba MK, announced that the ministry has performed free surgeries on more than 810 members of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) suffering from hernias. The announcement was made at the Ahmadu Bello Hall, Dutse, where Hon Ahmed Garba MK received an award from NULGE members.
In his address to NULGE members, the commissioner encouraged them to always uphold integrity and resist any urge to engage in wrongdoing in their respective offices. He also urged them to report any illegal activities in their areas of assignment, assuring them that appropriate action will be taken.
Hon Ahmed Garba MK promised that under his leadership, all benefits enjoyed by NULGE members will be awarded based on merit, rather than favoritism. He emphasized that legal services will be provided without bias, and performance will be the determining factor in any consideration made.
Furthermore, the commissioner pledged to facilitate car loans for all union members as an incentive for hard work. The goal is to motivate them to exert maximum effort in their roles.
The state chairman of NULGE, Comrade Abubakar Garba Shitu, stated that the commissioner received the award in recognition of his outstanding performance. He mentioned the timely and consistent payment of salaries, allowances, and other benefits to NULGE members, which has been greatly appreciated.
The award serves as an expression of gratitude and joy for the efforts made by the commissioner in advancing the welfare of NULGE members.
