At a rally in Glendale, Arizona, former president Donald Trump introduced Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the special guest. This comes just hours after Kennedy suspended his presidential campaign as an Independent candidate on August 23. With sagging polls, Kennedy chose to support Trump as the Republican nominee for the 2024 election.
During the rally, Trump praised Kennedy, describing him as a highly respected individual and expressing his desire to include him in his administration if he is victorious in November’s election. The rally, which began at 4 p.m. in Glendale, lasted for over an hour.
A multitude of Trump supporters gathered at the Wicked Wolf bar near the arena, tuning in to widescreen televisions to watch the 45th president criticize Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Among the attendees, Edith Verjarcruz from Arizona expressed excitement and enthusiasm for Kennedy’s withdrawal from the race, viewing his endorsement of Trump as a positive move.
Verjarcruz believes that Kennedy’s support will bolster Trump’s campaign and strengthen his chances of victory. Miguel Bravo, a Trump supporter from Glendale, described Kennedy as an old-style Democrat who no longer aligns with the party’s principles and beliefs.
Amman Catalan from Surprise, Arizona, on the other hand, sees no conflicts with Kennedy serving in Trump’s administration. According to Catalan, both men share a common goal of doing what is best for America. However, Joe O’Shaughnessy from Arizona was disappointed with Kennedy’s withdrawal, as he feels it may redirect votes to Harris.
Leno Marin from Phoenix, a Trump supporter, commended Kennedy for his work with the Children’s Defense Fund and his opposition to COVID-19 injections. Marin believes that these topics will resonate with many individuals concerned about health issues in the country. Furthermore, Marin hopes that if Trump returns to the White House, his primary focus will be securing the border and addressing economic challenges including inflation.
Bobby Favino from Arizona acknowledged Kennedy’s decision to withdraw from the race, recognizing that running as an Independent would have divided the vote. Favino, a staunch Trump supporter since 2016, believes that Trump can secure victory in November with Kennedy’s support. However, Favino expressed reservations about having Kennedy in Trump’s cabinet, though he believes Kennedy made the right choice by supporting Trump.
Tina Morales from Florence, Arizona, stood outside the arena proudly waving a large blue Trump flag. Morales expressed confidence that the 2024 election will not face the same allegations of fraud as the 2020 election. She firmly believes that the right person has been chosen by God to lead the nation. Morales also voiced concern about Harris’s proposed economic measures, particularly the introduction of price controls at grocery stores.
After the rally, Representative Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) spoke to The Epoch Times, stating that Kennedy’s endorsement will undoubtedly benefit Trump’s chances of winning the election.
