Senior Biden Adviser Anita Dunn Is Stepping Down From Her Position At The White House.

Anita Dunn, a senior adviser to President Joe Biden who played a significant role in steering his successful 2020 election campaign, has announced her departure from the White House.

Dunn’s departure marks the end of her tenure as a key senior member of the team that contributed to the historic victory in 2020. President Biden expressed his appreciation for her invaluable contribution, stating, “She’s not only tough and tested, but her experience and intellect have played a crucial role in delivering historic results for the American people.”

This announcement follows Biden’s recent decision to not seek reelection. While Dunn’s departure is the first among Biden’s senior staff after this decision, he emphasized that he will continue to rely on her counsel and insights as they conclude the remaining six months of their term.

The specific date of Dunn’s exit has not been disclosed to the public.

Previously, Dunn served in the Biden administration from Jan. 20, 2021, to Aug. 12, 2021, before returning on May 5, 2022.

In a statement to media outlets, Dunn expressed her honor and privilege in serving in the White House during this transformative term. She conveyed gratitude to President Biden and Vice President Harris for their leadership and for affording her the opportunity to contribute to the accomplishments they have achieved for the American people.

Notably, Dunn’s husband, Bob Bauer, serves as Biden’s attorney and gained attention during the 2020 election when the Trump campaign challenged the results.

Prior to her role in the current administration, Dunn previously served as the White House communications director during the Obama administration.

With a long history of working in Democratic Party politics, Dunn’s career began as an intern in the Carter administration. She then went on to become a managing director at SKDK, a prominent Democratic strategy group.

As of now, Dunn, 66, has not responded to requests for comments regarding her departure.
