The speaker of the House of Representatives, RT. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic loss of nearly 50 lives and more than 50 cows in a devastating accident that occurred in Niger State. The incident took place along Lapai-Agaie, just 2km from Dendo Community in Agaie Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State, when a petrol tanker collided with another articulated vehicle and resulted in a massive explosion. This tragic accident was reported by New Telegraph.
Musa Krishi, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Speaker Abbas, issued a statement extending his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Niger State, and Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago. Speaker Abbas described the incident as extremely unfortunate and prayed for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.
Moreover, he emphasized the need for increased carefulness among road users, particularly drivers, as the number of casualties due to road accidents continues to rise alarmingly.
