A 24-year-old man, Olamide Mudasiru, has been sentenced to two weeks imprisonment by a Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan for stealing a pot and a firewood stand worth N35,000.
Mudasiru, whose address was not provided, pleaded guilty to the charge of theft brought against him.
The court president, Mrs. Mojisola Aworemi, sentenced Mudasiru to two weeks imprisonment at the Agodi Correctional Centre in Ibadan, with a one-week community service offered as an alternative.
The prosecutor, Mr. Philip Amusan, informed the court that the convict committed the offense on Sunday around 11:00 p.m. in Sango, Ibadan.
According to Amusan, Mudasiru stole a pot and a firewood stand belonging to Mrs. Aderinkola Oladunmomi.
The offense committed by the convict is in violation of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
