Lawless individuals armed with various weapons rampaged through the streets of Kano metropolis, perpetrating acts of violence against shops and offices, plundering properties, and engaging in mob actions.
The unruly mob was seen making off with office furniture, air conditioners, and metal signboards.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a bus carrying journalists from different media outlets was also targeted for attack along Sokoto Road.
The hooligans utilized sticks and machetes to shatter the bus windows, causing injuries to reporters from TVC and Leadership.
Earlier in the day, protesters had gathered in front of the Government House, voicing their dissenting opinions and calling for political change.
Unfortunately, the situation quickly escalated and turned violent, resulting in the ignition of burning tires. Security forces were compelled to disperse the unruly crowd by employing tear gas.
The looters targeted several locations, including Rufaida Youghurt at Kabuga, Kano Printing Press, and the NCC Office at Audu Bako Secretariat.
In addition, personal properties and houses in close proximity to the government house fell victim to the hoodlums’ aggression, as they were attacked and looted. (NAN)
