The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commenced the process of educating its employees on the revised Performance Management System (PMS) as per the directive of the current administration. The directive mandates the implementation of the system across all federal public service parastatals.
In accordance with this, Dr. Emiola Olatubosun Luqman, the Director of Human Resources and Administration (DHR&A), has been assigned the responsibility of visiting all airports under the jurisdiction of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria. Recently, Dr. Luqman visited Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, to sensitize the staff about the new PMS.
Under the new program, the Annual Performance Evaluation Report (APER) will be replaced and transformed from an analog system to a digital one.
During his visit, Dr. Luqman provided a detailed explanation of the new PMS, specifically highlighting its significance in fostering a results-oriented culture within the public service. He emphasized the importance of clear job objectives being outlined for each department. Furthermore, he stressed the need for every staff member to be aware of their specific responsibilities and capable of reporting on the work completed.
Dr. Luqman also elaborated on the Employee Performance Management subsystem, which aims to define, communicate, manage, and support the performance and development of employees in the federal public service.
