Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed his optimism that the proposed Zonal Office and Training School of the Nigeria Customs Service, located at the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport, will enhance the state’s position as the nation’s industrial hub. Governor Abiodun further stated that this project will also complement the upcoming Kajola Inland Dry Port and the Olokola Seaport, as well as the planned revival of a Liquefied Natural Gas Project in the area.
The governor made this remark during his visit, alongside the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, to the site of the proposed Zonal Office/Training School in Ilisan, Ikenne Local Government Area. He emphasized that the deep seaport and dry port being developed in the state will attract more investment opportunities, thus benefiting the people.
Governor Abiodun further highlighted that the proximity of the training school to the Agro-Cargo Airport will enable the Customs Service to effectively regulate import and export operations in compliance with due process.
The development of the Customs’ Zonal Office and Training School, along with the planned infrastructure projects, demonstrates Ogun State’s commitment to fostering economic growth and becoming an attractive destination for businesses.
